Diving in Santorini

Diving in Santorini is very popular, and although there is a certain lack of fish and coral the visibility the waters around the island are offering and the amazing underwater architecture make diving a must!

Water temperature is about 22°C – a wetsuit is definitely needed. Diving in the caldera is also possible but the south side of the island is the one that features a range of wonderful caves which you can explore with the aid of a guide.
You will take a boat from Kamari or Perissa, and it will take you 20 minutes to get to the south side of the island and 40 minutes to get to the volcanos or Aspronisi.

The dive schools offer the usual PADI courses and cater for snorkelers, those who just want to try out the underwater world, and experienced divers.
